About us:

The research at the Analog, VLSI and Devices Laboratory focuses on Analog, Mixed Signal Circuit Designs in bulk CMOS and SOI technologies, Semiconductor Devices for high frequency and high power applications and Biomicroelectronics. In addition, the laboratory collaborates with Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the areas of Monolithic Sensors and Nanotechnology.

Recent News:


  • April 2009: Dr. S. K. Islam received College of Engineering Research Fellow Award.
  • April 2009: Mohammad Aminul Huque received the University of Tennessee citation award for Extraordinary Professional Promise in the Chancellor's Honors Banquet held on April 6, 2009. This award is given to the undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate professional promise in teaching, research or other contributions.
  • March 2009: Congratulations to Touhidur Rahman for successful Ph.D. Dissertation Defense. His topic is "Physics Based Modeling of Multiple Gate Transistors on Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI)".
  • Mohammad R. Haider, Mo Zhang and Prof. Syed K. Islam's paper received Top 10 BEST paper award from 'Sensors and Transducers' journal.
  • Touhidur Rahman, Mohammad Aminul Huque and Prof. Syed K. Islam's paper achieved best paper award in Advanced Workshop on 'Frontiers in Electronics' (WOFE '07).
